We congratulate Alejandra Palacios, alumna of the Economics Undergraduate Program and MBA program at ITAM, for her recent incorporation to the Cuatrecasas law firm as an external advisor. In this new role, Alejandra will contribute to strengthen the presence of the firm in Latin America, positioning it as a benchmark in economic competition and related areas, including Mexico.
Alejandra’s trajectory in the competition field is wide and outstanding. She acted as Director of Competition Projects and Good Government for the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO) for 6 years. Also, she has acted as advisor for the now extinct Federal Telecommunications Commission (COFETEL) and for the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), collaborating with international organizations, like OCDE. She also was an advisor for the Inter American Development Bank (BID) and she served as vice president for the International Competition Network.
One of the most outstanding achievements of her career was her appointment as President Commissioner of the Federal Antitrust Commission (COFECE) from 2013 to 2021, becoming the first woman to lead this organization in Mexico.
Currently, Alejandra is part of the Administrative Boards of Alfa Group, BBVA Mexico and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico. Her incorporation to Cuatrecasas will be key to push strategic development for the firm in Mexico and Latin America. \.
Congratulations Alejandra Palacios for this important achievement and for continuing to be an example of leadership and excellence!
