Dr. Vidal Romero León will assume the position of Acting Head of the Academic Department of Political Science as of August 1, 2021. Dr. Romero has a law degree from the University of Guadalajara. Subsequently, he completed his Master's studies in Public Policy at ITAM and a doctorate in Political Science from Stanford University.

Dr. Vidal belongs to the National System of Researchers, Level 2. In addition, he is a researcher associated with the Program of Poverty and Governance at Stanford University and the ITAM Center for Energy and Natural Resources. He has also participated in different research projects with the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the National Endowment for Democracy, México Avalúa and the Wilson Center. His research papers have been published in distinguished academic journals such as Latin American Research Review, Latin American Politics and Society, Foreign Affairs Latin America, Political Research Quarterly, to name a few.

Vidal Romero will assume the position in substitution of Dr. Alberto Simpser, who will enjoy a one-year sabbatical.
