
We congratulate Dr. Natalia Saltalamacchia Ziccardi on her appointment as the chair of the Department of International Studies, replacing Dr. Stephan Sberro, who is retiring, and to whom we once again extend our heartfelt appreciation for his valuable contributions.
Dr. Saltalamacchia has been a professor at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) since 2004. She is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) at level I. Between 2015 and 2018, she served as the Director General of the Matías Romero Institute (IMR) within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE). She holds a doctoral degree from the Complutense University of Madrid, a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University, and is an alumna of the International Relations undergraduate program at ITAM.
She has served on various panels, including the promotion competition for the diplomatic-consular branch of the Mexican Foreign Service, the "Adrián Lajous" Award for undergraduate theses from El Colegio de México, and the Advisory Council of the Diplomatic Historical Collection of the SRE. She is also a member of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI).
