We congratulate Juan Pablo Newman Aguilar, alumnus of the Applied Mathematics undergraduate program at ITAM, for his recent appointment as acting Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Televisa Univision, as from September 1st 2024.

Juan Pablo Newman, who currently serves as Growth Director of Televisa Univision México, has been appointed for this important role due to his wide experience in financial operations management and growth both in the private and public sector. His career of over 20 years includes key positions as general director of Afore XXI-Banorte, chief of the Public Credit Unit at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, and financial director of Mexican Petroleums (PEMEX). In this last appointment, he implemented an energy reform that stabilized the company’s credit rating and executed the company's first oil hedging program.

Newman also has a master’s degree in Operations Research by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
