Congratulations to our alumnus, Freddy Román Cepeda, from the undergraduate program in applied mathematics and computer engineering, for his outstanding participation in the CodeVita 2017 competition. Freddy Román was one out of 15 contestants from Latin America recognized for their excellent participation. Freddy was the only Mexican out of 1400 Latin American participants receiving such acknowledgement, thus bringing great honor to our institution and country.
The CodeVita competition is a contest designed to promote coding and programming. In its sixth edition, 570 mexican students participated – almost half of total contenders –, which contrasted a lot with the previous year, in which only 22 students attended.
This increase in Mexican participation shows that programming is a fundamental skill for the future. Therefore, these types of competitions, aimed to identify talent and promote learning, are essential for all students.
Congratulations to Freddy on his achievement!
