Rodrigo Alcázar Silva, alumnus of the Economics program ITAM, was appointed the commissioner of the Federal Commission of Economic Competition (Cofece) until 2028.
Rodrigo Alcazar has a masters degree in economics, regulation and competition in public services and telecommunications by the University of Barcelona. He also acted as the Executive Director of Economic Studies at the General Direction of Economic studies, and, before that, as the Director of Market Research and Prospective Analysis at the General Director of Monopolist Relative Practices and also as Subdirector of Research of Monopolist Relative Practices. He was also the Commissioner of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications and Competition Manager of Telecommunications Izzi.
