Congratulations to Gerónimo Gutiérrez, alumnus of the undergraduate program in economics and political Science, for his appointment as Mexican Ambassador to the United States.
He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University. He has served in various positions in the federal public administration since 1992, namely, Advisor to the Treasury and Public Credit Secretary, Research Director in the Economics Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, Head of Planning, Communication, and Networking Unit of the Economy Ministry, Deputy Secretary to North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean in the Foreign Relations Ministry, Deputy Secretary of Government in the Ministry of the Interior, and as an advisor in BanObras. Furthermore, he was the director of the Miguel Estrada Iturbide Foundation of the National Action Party.
ITAM recognized his work in the public sector with the “Professional Merit” award in 2009.
