Alejandro Werner, alumnus of the Economics undergraduate program at ITAM, was appointed member of Alpek’s board of directors.

Alejandro Werner has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and a doctorate in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr Werner has gathered a wide experience in both public and private sectors. He was a research assistant at Colegio de Mexico and research director at Banco de México. He was also a professor at ITAM, Yale University and at IE Business School in Madrid. In addition he has held the positions such as director of the Western Hemisphere Department of the International Monetary Fund, undersecretary of Treasury and Public Credit of Mexico from 2006 to 2010 and head of Corporate and Investment Banking in BBVA-Bancomer.

The multinational mexican company that produces chemicals celebrated last tuesday the annual general ordinary stockholders' meeting where the appointment was approved. The proposed appointment of the members of the board of directors included the addition of 3 new directors: Montserrat Ramiro, José Valdez y Alejandro Werner, as well as the ratification of current members.
