The Center for Leadership and Innovation for Women of the Americas in Peru and the Institute for Democratic Development in Mexico honored María del Carmen Nava Polina for her career and impact on the political life of the country. She has been recognized for being one of the main promoters of political, economic and development rights.

María del Carmen Nava is a graduate of the ITAM Political Science Degree and has a doctorate from the Mexican Institute of Mediation. During her career, she has been trained in prestigious academic institutions such as the University of California in Saint Fiego, Palo Alto University, Washington University in Saint Louis, to name a few. She is currently a Citizen Transparency Commissioner, investigator and coordinator of the Open Government and Proactive Transparency Commission in the National Transparency System.
