We congratulate Dr. José Guadalupe Romero on his appointment as the head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Additionally, he will continue as head of the Mechatronics Engineering Program.
José Guadalupe Romero Velázquez is a full-time professor and researcher in the Department of Digital Systems, and a level 1 researcher in the National System of Researchers of CONACYT. He obtained a Doctorate in Control Theory from the University of Paris Sud XI; a Master's degree in Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing from CINVESTAV-IPN; and a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from the Autonomous University of Zacatecas. His research interests focus on control theory, stability analysis, and state estimation problems, with a special emphasis on nonlinear systems including mechanical systems, aerial vehicles, and mobile robots. Throughout his professional career, he has been a postdoctoral fellow at Schneider Electric and EECI in Paris, France; and at the Laboratoire d'Informatique, de Robotique, et de Microlectronique of Montpellier in Montpellier, France.
