Congratulations to ITAM’s team made up of Anhara Gamez (Actuarial Science), Rebeca Toledo (Financial Management), and Xavier Rosas (Public Accounting and Financial Strategy) for winning the regional finals of the Hult Prize in San Francisco.

They competed against more than 60 representations from universities from around the world and won with their project U-gas. This project aims to improve the sanitary conditions of refugees, decrease the probability of the spreading of diseases, as well as offer work and quality of life opportunities, and reduce pollution by recycling the waste in the camps.

The team will participate in a summer program at Hult Prize Accelerator and compete in the world finals against the winners of the five regional finals (Boston, London, Dubai, and Shanghai), in Washington, D.C. in September 2017. Muhammad Yunus, along with other distinguished world leaders will select and award the winning team of the Hult Prize with one million dollars in seed capital.
