With sights on the 2024 International Olympiad of Informatics, one of the most prestigious competitions in the world in the field of informatics, ITAM was site for the first training for the selection process. 

The eighteen most talented young programmers in Mexico, selected for their outstanding performance in the 2023 International Olympiad in Informatics, are among this year's participants. These young people come from different parts of the country, showing a diverse and representative display of national talent.

The coordinator of this process, Luis Rodolfo Najera, and the academic secretary, Cesar Arturo Cepeda, members of the Mexican Informatics Committee, pointed out the huge potential and talent of young Mexican programmers. They stressed the importance of encouraging study environments, like this olympiad, to promote the development and regional prosperity through informatics, programming and technology knowledge. In collaboration with the EPIC Lab, at ITAM, it offered specialized workshops specialized in disruptive technologies and artificial intelligence. 

Dr. Ana Lidia Franzoni, Dean of Technology and Innovation at EPIC Lab, coordinated the event between ITAM and the former olympic competitors, ensuring their success and educational relevance. 

These young talents will represent Mexico in the 2024 International Olympiad in Informatics, which will take place in Alexandria from September 1st to 8th, 2024. Also, ten of them will participate in the Iberoamerican Olympiad in Informatics, taking Mexico’s name to the highest international forum in informatics.
