During the month of december, Jelena Misita, Chair of the IFAC PAO Development & Advisory Group, honored Dr. Sylvia Meljem, Chair of the Department of Accounting at ITAM, for her excellent performance during her tenure as member of the IFAC PAO Development & Advisory Group, as well as her meaningful collaboration to her work group.
The International Federation of Accounting, IFAC, is the association that supports the alignment to the International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and other norms developed by IFAC’s issuing committees and the International Accounting Standards Board.
The Professional Accounting Organizations (PAO) are the excellence centers that promote the relevance and importance of the Accounting profession, serve as advisors to companies and governments around the world and are the cornerstone of said profession.
Dr. Sylvia Meljem became a member of the IFAC (PAODC) Development & Advisory Group in January 2021, having served as a Technical Advisor in the International Council for Standards in Accounting Education from 2016 to 2018 and a member of the IAESB from 2007 to 2012.
