Dr. Gema Karina Santamaría Balmaceda awarded humanities research grant

Congratulations to Dr. Gema Karina Santamaría Balmaceda, who earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from ITAM, for winning one of two research grants offered to women in humanities and social sciences.

Dr. Santamaría holds a doctorate in sociology and history from the New School for Social Research in New York City. She is on ITAM’s faculty in the Academic Department of International Studies.

The grants were established by the Mexican Academy of Sciences, the National Council on Science and Technology, and the president of Mexico’s Science Advisory Council to promote the creation of knowledge by young Mexican women.
